We spent the afternoon on the beach! My dad had to go to a coastal town for an appointment, and we decided we would join him and spend the afternoon on the beach. It was a scorching hot day and Jesse had great fun in swimming in the sea. He also tried to join in with a couple of teenagers playing with a ball and tried to walk up and touch everyone with his sandy hands. Needless to say, I spoke to everyone on the beach that day... impossible to be shy with a toddler!
We joined my gran in house-sitting my aunts house on a farm. being in a different house, that is not toddler proof was absolutely exhausting. I spent the entire time watching Jess and making sure he didn't open the glasses cabinet etc. He still managed to eat cat food, spill a container of rice everywhere and spend most of the weekend covered in mud. Plus, Jesse's nappies wouldn't come clean in my aunts washing machine - disaster! All in all, I was happy to be home at the end of the weekend.

Jesse wasn't happy away from home either. He missed his playmate, Sasha, (his puppy) and didn't really know what to do with himself. Both of us thrive under routine and were totally thrown by the change in environment. Or maybe it was just that I was thrown, and he picked up on that vibe.

A favourite activity is playing with stickers. Jesse likes to stick them to himself, stick them on the walls, stick them on the dog and thinks its really funny when he sticks them on me.

My fathers birthday, he turned 50! Happy birthday to a wonderful father. My dad's is one of the nicest people I know, and has enviable morals and values. I am so grateful Jesse gets to grow up with him as a role model. Here is his cake, its green because, you know, he's a boy...
